Many years of practical experience have shown us that discoloration can occasionally occur due to material abrasion when using the Karl Dahm leveling system.
This abrasion is caused by black pulling hoods. Since you cannot visually see the surface sensitivity of a tile, you should always check the material compatibility before starting to lay it. To do this, only rub the material with the black traction hood to the leveling system and assess the result.
Avoid discoloration with Levelmac® washers - save time!
If discoloration has developed, we recommend the reusable Levelmac® washers, a simple and effective method to avoid later complaints.
Certainly, these discolorations can be removed with special cleaning agents, but prevention is better than time-consuming cleaning. Basically, abrasion discoloration occurs in no more than 3% of all tile materials, especially in white high-gloss tiles with very sensitive surfaces. But even these tiles can now be leveled without hesitation using the Karl Dahm leveling system, in conjunction with the new PVC washers, without any nasty surprises.
How are the Levelmac® washers used?
And it's as simple as this: Position the tab under the tile as usual, place and align the next tile, place a washer over the threaded shaft and tighten the tension cap. After the adhesive has cured, remove the pull hood and break off the tab in the direction of the joint. You can use the Levelmac® washers several times.
