A natural stone floor gives rooms a noble lustre. However, this will fade over time due to use and wear. Outdoor floors also become porous due to weathering and external influences. To restore the floor to its original appearance, it should be cleaned, sanded and polished. This protects against dirt and moisture, gives it a new lustre and maintains its value.
Many work processes are associated with different grinding and polishing work.
The high demands placed on grinding and polishing tools include ergonomic designs, user-orientated technology implementation, simple operation, low maintenance and a long service life.
There are various sanding processes. Unevenness, scratches and dirt are removed by so-called coarse sanding. An almost even surface is achieved. With surface sanding, all excess teeth are also removed. Fine sanding gives you a mirror-smooth surface.
Making the unthinkable possible - you can count on creative and advanced sanding machines, polishing machines and tools that promote a variety of sanding techniques. Sanding and polishing takes a lot of time and effort. High-tech sanding and polishing machines take the place of time-consuming manual sanding and polishing. Various polishing discs and grinding wheels can be used on these machines. A polisher is used when surfaces need to be particularly smooth.
There are differences in polishing/grinding machines that should be considered before purchasing. In contrast to manual sanding / polishing (by hand), this work is done very easily and quickly with a sanding or polishing machine. This saves you a lot of time and money.
At Karl Dahm, we attach great importance to the highest quality when it comes to grinding tools, polishing tools, accessories and, of course, other tools. We offer tools for natural stone processing that are powerful, durable, robust and practical. So you can work quickly and successfully.
In order for the machines to perform optimally over a long period of time, they naturally also require a certain amount of maintenance. Many consumables and used parts, such as sanding discs, sanding belts and other abrasives, can be easily replaced if necessary. This gives the machines a long service life.
Safety always comes first! You should always wear safety goggles and work gloves when grinding and polishing. Grinding discs with ceramic bonds can be very fragile. As a result, smaller pieces can be thrown through the air and could fly into the eye. Protective clothing effectively helps to prevent injuries.
There are many different types of sanders. This is because, depending on the work to be carried out, you need special different sanding machines or sanding discs. You need to sand different materials, coarse sanding or fine sanding. Every craftsman, DIY enthusiast and tiler needs the right sanding machine with the right accessories. There are also many different attachments for the sanders, such as sanding discs, backing pads, sanding discs, adapters and much more.
Grinding discs are rotationally symmetrical bodies that are attached to a grinding machine / angle grinder and are used for grinding or polishing. Grinding is generally a process in which the surface is sanded, smoothed or other materials are removed from the floor, for example. Different grinding discs are used depending on the material. In addition to the material, you must also pay attention to the respective grit size of the sanding discs. The smaller the grit size, the finer and smoother the surface to be processed. Soft sanding discs are more suitable for hard materials and vice versa. When sanding hard materials with soft sanding discs, the abrasive grains of the disc are more likely to break off, resulting in new, razor-sharp grains.
