Tile pick-up system for removing tiles the non-destructive way!

Remove and replace tiles non-destructively ?  - not so easy when you consider that some tiles are extremely firmly fixed in the tile adhesive. Normally they are laid in such a way that they last as long as possible. But from time to time it happens that the substrate has to be restored. Furthermore, replacement tiles in the same colour, shape and size are often hard to find. The conclusion is: the existing tile should possibly  be removed from the substrate as a whole so that it can be reused after renovation.

With the new tile removal system from Karl Dahm, this is now possible in no time at all. Thanks to the new, super-strong hot air blower, you can remove tiles without destroying these or adjacent tiles. The principle of the tile pick-up system is simple:

1. First the concerned tile is exposed with a joint cutter. We recommend our cement and silicone joint cutter
   art.no. 41810 (230V) or our wet cutting complete art. no. 40690 (230V). After the joints have been removed, they must be filled with water.
2. The tile removal system consists of a "system chamber" which is placed over the affected tile. It can be used for all common formats up to 30 or 50 cm. On the "system chamber" there are carrying handles made of non thermally conductive material. Now the hot air gun is placed in the opening of the system chamber and heated up to 600°C. The current temperature is displayed on the hot air gun.

After approx. 10 minutes, the tile should have detached itself from the substrate and be very easy to remove. Now the substrate can be renovated or tested and the tile can be laid out again or replaced.
