Tile laying system/wedge system in bucket Art. 12055 

For optical reasons, tiles are getting bigger and bigger and the distance between the joints is getting smaller and smaller. Consequently, laying tiles is becoming more and more difficult, which is why one tile laying system after another is being developed to make tiler's work easier. Also at Karl Dahm you can get not only qualitative, but also high-quality laying systems!

The scope of delivery of the wedges / tile laying system

In addition to our leveling system (e.g. Art. 12 504) with pull tabs, we now also offer a wedge system:

The wedge system can be used for floor as well as wall laying. But how do you actually use a tile laying system?

Application of tile laying system / wedge system
The application is very easy. Proceed as follows:

1. If you have a well-prepared, level and dry screed floor, the tile adhesive can be applied. Caution: A tile laying system cannot level an uneven subfloor. The floor must always be sufficiently pretreated when a tile laying system is used.
2. Then start laying the tiles.
3. Now insert the tabs into the joint and and then embed the next tile into the tile adhesive. The tab is now under the two adjacent tiles. The tab portion where the wedge is clamped is in the joint and looks out over the pavement.
4. Now the wedges come into play. Slide the wedge through the tab behind until the tiles are level.
5. You can now use the pliers to push the wedge even further into the tab, and perfect the result of the tiles being brought to level.
6. The wedges as well as the tabs of this tile installation system remain in the tiles until the tile adhesive is dry / cured!
7. Once the tile adhesive has cured and the flooring may be walked on again, you can simply kick off the tabs along with the wedges stuck in them with your foot. The wedges are reusable. The lugs, on the other hand, are broken off at a predetermined breaking point. The lower part of the tab (tab base) remains under the tile in the tile adhesive. The upper part is discarded.
   Voilà - the result is an evenly laid surface thanks to the tile laying system/ wedge system from Karl Dahm!

Accessories of the tile laying system:

When using a wedge system, you will always need pliers to tighten the wedges into the tabs. This will allow you to apply more force when leveling the tiles.

The formation of hollow layers is impossible if you install using the buttering floating method. In this way, you create a sufficiently thick tile adhesive bed. In addition, when using a tile laying system, the aim is not to level out an uneven floor, but to make up for the last millimeter, i.e. to avoid, as far as possible, any overhangs that may occur when laying tiles using such systems.

Of course, joint crosses (Art.10 730 - 10 735) can also be used to ensure that the joint spacing does not change during laying.
