Levelmac Levelling System Sets offer tile setters and craftsmen a clever, well-thought-out solution to quickly, precisely, and without lippage install wall and floor tiles. Especially for large-format or calibrated tiles, it is crucial to rely on a reliable levelling system. The Levelmac sets from Karl Dahm combine high-quality components with practical handling – ideal for professional users.
Tile laying on modern construction sites increasingly presents challenges for craftsmen: Uneven tile thicknesses, slightly wavy substrates, or variations in adhesive bed tension quickly lead to messy transitions.
A professional levelling system like Levelmac ensures:
Exact flatness without lippage
Time-saving installation without readjustment
Secure fixation until the adhesive sets
Especially for large-format tiles, the system provides an enormous relief in terms of work and quality assurance.
The Levelmac Levelling System Sets are suitable for:
Wall and floor tiles in bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas
Large formats and calibrated porcelain stoneware tiles
Tile laying on critical substrates
Renovations and new build projects
Whether classic 30x60 cm tiles or XXL slabs – with the right set, all challenges can be mastered with ease.
The following sets are available in the Karl Dahm online shop:
Base Sets in 12-Litre Bucket
Maxi Sets in 33-Litre Bucket
XXL Sets
Jumbo Sets
Terrace and Slab Sets (for tiles up to 30 mm)
With this selection, the perfect set is available for every application – from indoor use to outdoor terraces, from quick small jobs to large-format commercial projects.
Uneven tile heights (lippage) are among the most common issues in tiling work. They typically result from uneven adhesive distribution, tile warping, or insufficient pressure when setting the tile.
The Levelmac system locks each tile in place as the adhesive cures, ensuring it sits perfectly flush with the neighbouring tile – with no need for extra pressure or adjustment.
It also prevents tiles from sinking into fresh mortar and is ideal for the buttering-floating technique.
The system is designed to be intuitive and quick to learn for both professionals and beginners:
Insert the clip under the first tile at the joint.
Place the next tile, sliding it up to the clip.
Position the cap onto the exposed stem of the clip.
Tighten the cap by hand or with an adapter (optionally using a power driver or ergonomic tool).
After curing, strike the cap in the direction of the joint using a rubber mallet – the clip breaks off cleanly at the base, while the cap remains reusable.
The result is a consistently flat, lippage-free tiled surface.

Which set is right for my project?
For small to medium-sized jobs, the Basic or Maxi Sets are ideal. For large-format tiles or continuous use, we recommend the XXL or Jumbo Sets. If you're working exclusively outdoors, the specially designed terrace sets are your best choice.
Are the caps reusable?
Yes – both the black and transparent caps are designed for multiple uses. They are made from high-quality, impact-resistant plastic and can be easily cleaned after use.
What should I do when working with delicate tiles?
For polished or sensitive tile surfaces, we recommend using protective plates or single-use pads. These prevent marks, pressure points or abrasion caused by the levelling caps.
Is there any ergonomic tool to protect my back during use?
Yes. With the installation tool or power driver adapter, caps can be tightened comfortably while standing. This relieves strain on your back and knees and helps speed up the tiling process.
How do I remove the system after the adhesive has cured?
A firm tap with a rubber mallet in the direction of the joint is enough to break off the clips at the base. The caps remain intact and can be reused immediately.
What if I forget to place a clip during installation?
Rescue caps or SOS clips allow you to correct and level tiles afterwards – perfect for spot corrections or missed placements.
Can I use this system for terrace or outdoor tiles?
Yes – the terrace clips are longer and more robust, making them suitable for tile and slab thicknesses of up to 30 mm. Even in outdoor environments, the system ensures a flat, clean tile surface.
Is it better to buy a complete set or individual parts?
Complete sets offer excellent value and contain everything needed to get started or complete a project. Individual components are great for topping up supplies or restocking frequently used items.
Is a levelling system always required when laying tiles?
Not necessarily – but for large-format tiles, uneven substrates or time-sensitive installations, a levelling system can be a huge help. It improves results, speeds up the job, and reduces the need for corrections.
What’s the difference between a wedge levelling system and a rotary system like Levelmac?
In a wedge system, wedges are pushed through clips to create tension. In a rotary system, levelling is achieved by turning a cap onto the clip. Rotary systems like Levelmac provide more even pressure distribution and are typically faster and more ergonomic to use.
